THE Health department reported 2,303 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the total confirmed infections in the Philippines to 2,792,656, as eight laboratories failed to submit data on time.
This is the lowest daily number of infections reported since the 2,067 tally on March 2.
The DOH said the new cases brought the total active cases in the country to 40,786, of which, 71.2% are mild, 5.1% are asymptomatic, 7.5% are severe, and 3.2% are in critical condition. This is the lowest active case count since the 39,330 on March 8. Meanwhile, the total number of recoveries rose to 2,708,466 after 4,677 more patients recovered from the viral disease.
