THE retiring top cop has opted to keep his mouth shut over reports on plans of the President to appoint him as director of the National Bureau of Investigation — or keep him as is beyond his term.
In a television interview, Gamboa declined to comment when asked about rumors that sees him taking over the NBI top post when he retires from the police service in September.
“Police General Attorney Archie Francisco Gamboa is at the disposal of the government,” says Gamboa in an apparent effort to ward off the question. “I would just work and I submit to the wisdom of the President or to other people kung ano ang gusto nila. Basta, I’m here at the disposal of government,” Gamboa added. “Ayoko na mag-comment… I will just work up to the time when I am needed…” he added. Gamboa is set to retire on September 2.
